About Åsnebyn

Åsnebyn is a culture reserve, where you can find remains from the settlements of times past and learn about ancient farming techniques.

Åsnebyn, a culture reserve, offers exciting new experiences for everyone! Here, you can find remains from the settlements of times past and learn about ancient farming techniques.

On the hill next to the lake, you will find a burial ground from the Iron Age complete with cromlechs and stone circles.

In 1993, Olof Andersson bequeathed his farm in Åsnebyn to Hushållningssällskapet, the Rural Economy and Agricultural Society, and in 2008 the county administrative board decided that the property be made into a culture reserve because of its vital importance environmentally as well as culturally.

At Åsnebyn, you can take strolls through the cultural landscape and among the old buildings. There is a marked path that traverses the grounds which you can use to explore the cultural park on your own. Why not bring a picnic basket and have your lunch in the wild?

There are also events hosted right here on the farm.
