Gothenburg with emigration history
Thursday 12 August between 9 am and 10 pm
9 am - 11 am A visit to Sjöfartsmuseet (the SeafaringMuseum)

Here you can find many exhibitions, including one about Svenska Amerika Linien (the Swedish America Line), which was a direct link between Gothenburg and New York. During the first years the passengers often were emigrants or former emigrants visiting their old homeland.
11 am -12 noon Tramride to the city center
A guided walk to Packhuskajen 8 by the Gothenburg Maritime Center for the lunch.
12 noon - 1.30 pm Lunch on board the S/S Marieholm

1.30 pm – 3.30 pm A visit to Emigranternas Hus (the House of Emigrants) i Tullhuset (the Toll House)
  
It was through this house a little more than one million emigrants had to pass to get their emigration contracts stamped before they could start their journey towards their new homeland.
3.30 pm Free time to spend as you chose
For those interested we offer a guided walk through the quarters around the Toll House. We walk the streets that were the last the emigrants walked before they left Sweden. We will stop at Kronhusbodarna and Kronhuset.
7 pm Swedish cray fish party
Price: SEK 400
The price includes all visits, the tram ride, lunch and the crayfish party, including drinks.
